Order Portraits

"It is my desire to create a piece of art that will capture the animal so you will feel it's presence even after it has passed away. That is a tribute to your loved one and to the Creator of all living things."

 

Marie Dixon-Ames can be commissioned to create a painting of any animal.

 

Ordering Specifications:

Photographs are used to create the realistic likeness of your animal. Send as many photoa as you would like with notes regarding the most accurate eye and coat color and a description of the animals personality and characteristics. All photos will be returned with the completed portrait.

Indicate if there is a special date the portrait is needed. Artist will make every attempt to accommodate special dates. Most portraits are completed in 6 weeks.

Note if the portrait is for a special occasion or a gift (birthday, anniversary, holiday) and the date needed.

Decide on the medium you desire - oil, watercolor, pastel, pencil, colored pencil, or pen & ink. Oil is the most commonly ordered and provides a rich depth.

Decide on the size you desire - 11 x 14, 16 x 20, 18 x 24 or custom size. 16 x 20 is the most commonly ordered size.

The "shadow image" provides a unique look of your animal and is the most commonly ordered style. A single image can be of the head only or the entire body. Other choices for a painting are landscape and floral.

Background color is chosen to best accentuate the animal. If a scene is desired, provide photos if available, but not necessary.

Pricing is determined by the size, the number of animals in one portrait and the medium used. A variety of standard sizes are available.

A deposit of 50% is required with all orders. The balance is due at the time of shipment either by prepayment or COD payment with personal check or cashiers check.

The artist reserves the rights to use the image for marketing and advertising purposes and reserves the exclusive right to produce printed material for sales and profit. (Making your original more valuable.) The copyright of the image is retained by the artist.

When the order form is received by the artist, a contract will be mailed or faxed to the collector. Sign and promptly mail or fax it back to the artist.
